For the first time in ages I got a mailer from Capital One for a pre-approved Platinum Mastercard (no AF, 0% interest for a year). I said...what the heck I don't have many inquiries on my report....I might as well try it. Wholly expecting a 5-10 business day or instant DENY sort of message....what did I get? INSTANT APPROVED I'm so happy. This is the first unsecured card with no annual fee I've been approved for in something like 5-6 years. Anyone have a guess what my starting limit will probably be? I know they dinged TU for sure, but not sure about others...either way my score is likely in the low 600s.

Congrats on the approval! and that goes double for the overall progress it represents!! note that if it is one of their low limit rebuilders, this particular cc may not grow with you much, cap1 typically pulls all 3.

Congrats Von! I got my CapOne card last month and thrilled that I received an unsecured card from them to help rebuild my credit. Still waiting for it to report to the CRAs though??? Good luck with it!

tbque, What limit did they start you off with? I just checked the app again and it says the minimum they give out is $300 which honestly wouldn't be too bad in itself with the paltry total credit I have right now (1200 secured WF which is stuck in limbo with the whole graduation thing...and a $600 HSBC RZ CC).

Von, they started me off with a $300 CL. My scores were low, had some baddies (not PIF at the time) and no other CCs so to be expected. Working hard to change all of that though. I did get an Orchard CC with a $400 CL (unsecured). Is your RZ a Best Buy card and is it gold or platinum?

I got the gold version of the Best Buy RZ MC ($39 annual fee) just over a year ago.

Well curiosity got the better of me and I called CS to check what my starting limit was....$300. Anyone know what credit limit increases are like for this particular card, and what the sort of ceiling typically is for max limit?
