Hey gang,
I apped for the csp as well as the freedom last week and got the 7-10 message. Today, I checked status and found out I was approved. I called up the CSR and found out I had been approved for the CSR, I guess the freedom app had been ignored?
I wouldn't mind having the freedom as well. If I call them back, or apply again, will it still use the same HP they used to give me the CSP, or will I incur another HP?
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
I don't know how to call and check it separately. Is there a different phone line for freedom vs csp?
To clarify, I called the status line #s i had (800-432-3117 and 800-436-7927) and both were the same, it just tells me I was approved and tells me my CAL amount and says to talk to a representative press 1. No further information, and that info is only related to the CSP.
When I applied for the freedom originally, it was like 3 minutes after applying for the CSP and it gave the "application pending" message in the browser, at the time.
Personally I would wait it out... It might just surprise you and arrive in a few weeks or show up online on your account... Since you got the CSP I hope you get the Fredom as well as they are meant to work together. Sometimes the phone system is weird and only mention one card and not mention the other one or sometimes if you apply for only one mention the app and have a blank message. Calling and speaking with sometimes puts you more under a microscope in my opinion vs. letting the process just plays itself out. They have your application and the system is processing it, give it some time, you might be surprised. I am a very impatient person, but everytime I have called Chase it has turned out bad, everytime I have waited it has yielded fruits.
huh, interesting.
I guess the only reason I thought i'd call and ask is because if they just forgot about the applicatino or it didn't take for some reason, I'd like to have the card analyzed by the last pull and if it takes another 2 weeks, they may not use that HP any more.
Is there any chance they would disallow the CSP at this point?
I find it weird that I can't even find out the status of my freedom

Your CSP is approved you are good to go... Congrats on that... I am sure if you called and spoke to someone they would find it just fine, I just advise not to is all as sometimes they will want to transfer you to lending and for most that usually doesn't end well meaning your CSP would be fine, but they might be more inclined to decline the Freedom depending on other applications / account you might have recently and they might use the excuse we want to see how you do with the CSP first before approving your for more credit with Chase or something along those lines. Just alot of evidence on this forum and others to let it ride out in the system.. They already have pulled your credit at least once for the CSP approval and probably agains for the Freedom applicaiton and it won't be pulled again. Their phone system is just weird as I have applied for the freedom before for example and the message was just blank and it was an approval, so this certainly could be the case. It could be pending verification or could be a denial. Me personally I would wait it out, but if you are dieing to know, you can obviously call the number and ask for an update on it, just be prepared to talk to lender and an UW about your credit.
Congrats on your CSP approval. I would sit it out and wait a bit longer for Freedom results. If it did take the app normally (no error or weird behaviour) you should be either getting the card or a letter. If you do not get either one within the next 14 days then I would call and find out what happend. It could be that different teams work on different cards and therefore Freedom a bit slower in processing. But do not submit a new app at this stage.
Good luck !
I don't know that I got a weird message when I applied for the freedom. Just a popup window that said something about "Pending status application"
Ok, as much as it pains me to wait, I will do just that.
I did get a good SL for CSP i think, $16,000. So I imagine they probably like me just fine. If I get my CSP next week, and still no information on the freedom, I guess I'll call. I just definitely do not want to incur another HP at this point for another card.
Thanks all!

I am with you...know exactly how you feel ... just been through this with my Fidelity app and Elan Financial. Tried to call status line and it wanted to connect to a live rep so I did hang up again and waited. With US Bank I had success waiting and the same with Elan today.
