Hi guys I have been stalking the forums for a while but never posted. I needed some advice and hoped you guys could help.
I am debating about apping for the Arival+ WEMC. Right now I have the cards listed below (The Amex Surpass is not reporting yet it is a week old). I am not sure if I should app for the Arrival+ before the Amex starts reporting.
my AAoA is slim at 1Y 3M
No missed payments and always pay in full.
EX from my Amex app was 776.
Income Appr 28K (College Student)
The other reason I looked at this because Barclay normally pulls TU and I have one inq on TU from June 13
5 on EX (3 in the last year and only 1 in the last 6 months (The Amex) )
2 on EQ ( 1 in last year from Feb)
I like the Arrival because of the set 2X points and would probably use it for most transactions with the Amex Surpass
Should I apply or just garden for awhile?

I'm not sure whether you'd be approved or not. It's a TU pull so I think it's worth it to try. Before you do - ask yourself if you can afford the $6000 in minimum spend between the Surpass and Arrival in 90 days?

Thank you for the reply I almost thought no one was going to reply. I did think of that and what I was thinking was charging my tuition to the arrival because my school does not accept Amex. Anyone have a thought as to why Amex gave such a high limit? I could not believe it before. And the debate is do it now and apply and get it before Amex reports and have to do minimum spending on both. Or wait for Amex to report and to spread out the minimum spending for them. What do you guys think?
I know other people might disagree with me on this, but I would hazard to bet that the Amex took that AU into account and gave a limit similar to that.

That is what I was thinking too about why they gave me so much and the spending on the Amex and arrival is 3000 in the first 3 months therefore in the next 3 months I would have to spend 6000 between the both. What are your guys thoughts on approval now or after the Amex starts reporting
Hey jps!
Welcome to the forums.
Based on the info you provided, I think you will be approved. Here's the deal tho in my opinion. I would app before the Amex reports. The down side to this is that you will likely glean a smaller CL then you have received with Amex. My thought process is that your AAoA and FICO will likely drop low enough that you will require a manual review if the Amex reports before approval. I still think you will get approved with a manual review just that your instant approval chances are higher with out the Amex reporting. If you wait for the Amex to report and garden this for the next 6 months- the end result will likely be the same. That's just my thoughts and hope this helps. That's a LOT of spend to achieve in a short amount of time on a 28K income. Be sure even with the tuition spend that you can meet the Surpass requirement.
. Best of luck!!

Thank you so much for the help and I think I meet the spending on the Amex because for work I am traveling every two weeks over the summer and staying at a Hampton Inn which is why I got the surpass and I will reimbursed for that. then use the arrival for everything else. What is your guys opinion on the arrival? It was between that and the CSP but I like the 2X on everything with the arrival and where I am chase normally pulls EX
Well, I carry both in my wallet and I'm liking both equally. The UR points are more flexible to use and have a higher value if used correctly but there is something to be said for 2.2% cash back on travel with the Arrival. Customer service has been equally good and over the top. I've had no problems at all with travel abroad. I've found Barclays to be a little more fraud aware than Chase but both have great travel protections that pretty much match up. I think you'd be happy with either as long as you use the cards enough to justify the AF.
