No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Just looked @ Credit Karma which is supposedly based on TU report. It says I have 17 new accounts! It is listing all GECRB accounts as NEW Synchrony Bank Accounts. I can't update my TU monitoring service until later today but if this is the case my AAoA is gone to hell. I'll probably NEVER get any more credit if the accounts are going to be duplicated COL (crying out loud)![]()
I don't think that will affect you, on my CK, it say 10 new inquiries, but it also says 10 deleted

how can you say a lot of new TL won't hurt your score!?!?!?!!!!!!!
because all they did was rename it. IE why the fako sites can't be truly trusted.
CK shows new accounts, new inquiries, deleted inquiries etc....
but if you look at your actual report all that happened was the name on the account was changed. dates are same, history same, etc....
Hope you folks are right; will look at my reports this afternoon; thankx
Don't worry I have this happen to me before with other companies. When CapOne took over my HSBC the same thing happened. It also happened when WFNNB changed to Comenity. It also happened with my Webbank change over of Finger Hut accounts. It is nothing at all to worry about! I have already seen the changes on my report for the Sychrony GE change and it did not at all impact my score!

They may show as new accounts added to your file, however, the open date for each account will be whatever the account with GECRB was opened. Because of that, it will not hurt your AAoA.
Hope that helps clear things up a little

I noticed the same thing on CK. Added Walmart, Amazon, Lowes and Chevron (I had closed that account months ago) And removed the same. My score did not change, it also said that I had the same number of inquiries.
For some reason my Comenity cards say new card added/deleted every single month; it makes no sense. They also say my credit limit increased/decreased each month (like it went -1400 to 0 and then +1400). But that's just on Credit Karma and they look normal on my actual credit reports. Also, no problems during the WFNNB to Comenity switch.
However, on the other hand, I do have duplicate student loans. My Dept of Education loans switched to being handled by Sallie Mae at some point when I was in college, and the old accounts started showing as closed/transferred and I got a bunch of new accounts. But the new accounts had the original Dept of Education opening dates. It's weird though because they all get counted in my average age of account, so my older student loans get double credit helping me as if I had two old accounts instead of one.
I would think that this switch would be like the Comenity one, but I guess you never know and it could end up more like my student loan situation. Hopefully they would show up as truly new accounts with 2014 opening dates.
