Authorized/Additional User on Amex

Does anyone know of a way to get the additional annual charge waived when adding an authorized user to an American Express charge card?

Re: Authorized/Additional User on Amex

I just added my DD last month. They told me there would be no additional annual fee for her. My card is BCP, if that makes a difference.

Which cc are you referring to? Some have no additional fee, while others do

Re: Authorized/Additional User on Amex

It's the Green charge card. I thought it would be a good start with Amex and it would also help me and my husband to budget, stop carrying balances on credit cards while also using our debit cards less (for safety reasons).

The website lists a $30 extra annual fee to add up to 5 Authorized Users. That's absurd!

AFs are to offset benefits. It's ultimately your decision if you wish to use/carry that Amex. There are others that do not have any AFs. They are revolvers not charge cards though.

That is partly why I got the PRG. No fee for the 1st 5 AU's.

AU bad history won't affect you. If your card has some new baddies or high util then it will affect AU credit report.
