Hey All,
As the topic states, I'm trying to figure out which card out of the following options would have the largest positive impact on my credit score:
- Discover IT - 1 yr old
- Chase Southwest Premier - 2 yrs old
- Amex (not sure which one) - 3 yrs old
A bit of background: I have zero credit history but recently got approved for a BofA Cash Rewards card with a $1000 CL. I'd like to quickly build up my credit score and I'm eyeing the 3 cards I really want (Amazon Prime Rewards Visa, Uber Visa, Chase Sapphire Preferred). My wife has an excellent credit score (>790), a fairly long credit history and owns the cards listed above. So essentially the plan is to become an AU on one of the above in addition to responsibly using my BofA card to build a good score.
Any advice?
Obviously AMEX since that appears as her oldest, as long as the utillization is not high on that card then that would be your best bet. But you mention a "fairly" long history, does she have older cards than 3 years as that is really not too old?
She has a couple of store cards as well as loans, some of which have been paid off. I read that Amex doesn't backdate the history for AUs anymore so I was wondering if there's any benefit with going with either the Discover or the Chase (especially considering 2 of the cards I want are Chase cards).
Amex doesnt backdate au accounts

Sorry my bad, then I guess the next oldest account would work

Is it a known fact that Discover and/or Chase backdates AU accounts?
