Authorized user on the same Amex card twice?

Last week I cold apped for a BCE, denied. My husband got a pre-approval, so he went for it. Approved, set up his account. When he went to add me as an authorized user it gave some error that he had to activate his card first before adding anyone.

Monday his card came, activated it, added me as AU. Wednesday my card came and I thought to myself man, that was fast? Activated it, set up my account etc.

Fast forward to today. A second Amex shows up with my name on it. Same card, different numbers. I added it to my account assuming maybe for some reason they had manually reviewed my application and reconsidered my denial. Then I realized neither card came with the intro stuff about apr or limit and TOS. Just 1 sheet with the card attached.

So now I have 2 cards, 2 numbers for my husbands 1 BCE. What shall I do about this? Is it bad, should he or I call them, explain the error, tell them I must be added as an authorized user twice by mistake for the same card and have them fix it, or should I just let it be?

Surprised they would even send me two different cards for the same account, doesn't make any sense. As far as I can tell between the lack of info pack in the letter and being unable to add an AU on either card it must be that.

I would have your husband call them and explain what happened.. It should get straigtened out easily.  As far the AU card coming without anything else, that's fairly common.

If you do indeed have two AU cards under your husband's account, it'll show that on his account. If nothing else, just have him call in and cancel one of them. Also, AU cards do come quite simple, no literature or anything other than the paper the card is attached to.
