I had my mom add me as an authorized user on her chase sony visa card today. The strange thing is they didnt ask her for my ssn. I was wondering if this would still report? Hmmm Anyone know if this will report as a TL to any CRA's without giving my ssn? Your help is greatly appreciated.
it should
thanks just was worried they didnt ask my for my info
i disagree with creditaddict, you can be a cardmember, but in order to have a line of credit report, she needs to add your ssn. ask her to call and find out how she can update you.
i just got added to a BofA account and they only asked for my full name. No ssn or anything. It was easy and reported the next week.
Speaking with experience with Chase specifically my husband had added me as an AU on his chase card and they reported it to all 3 reports without my social. So did Citi, and just recently Discover.
Now, Amex told me this morning that they would ask for my husbands social to add him to my Costco card for one due to new credit laws? How true this is who knows, but on their website it also says that the AU should of never defaulted on an Amex card which really is the reason at least I think they ask for SS.
Bottom line all the other 3 creditors including Chase reported when I was an AU without my social.
thanks everyone for your thoughts I guess I will just wait for now and see
i don't understand how an account can be reported without a ssn. i am sure there are many scott wagnon's(not my legal last name) that are born on 01/01/76 (not my actual birthday). how would they be able to safely, accurately, report based on this limited information???
address.
As said above, your name and address are enough to post to your CRs.
