Re: Authorized user question

I just did the same thing for my sister. I called Capitol One and they took all her information over the phone (name, ssn, DB, address, and phone number). I also added her on Citibank and they only asked for her name so I called in and they said if they don't have the ssn, DOB, etc.. then it won't report to the credit report. I had the same question that if all they needed was the name then how would it be reported.

It's not up to Tranunion to decide to report an AU account.  It's soley the discretion of the creditor to furnish the data.

Re: Authorized user question

My GF did same thing for me. But her account did not show up on my credit reports until her address was added. I was able to add her address on TU and EXP. Equifax has not added it yet. I may have to get a utility bill or update my D.L. with her address to accomplish it. I guess they need address to be the same since our last names differ... I did get a 15 point boost on my FICO TU report.
