Congratulations! Interestingly, I contacted AMEX yesterday about an APR reduction myself. I wasn't positive what it was, but I was pretty sure it was too high! However, the customer service representative indicated that my APR was the lowest possible (12.99%) aside from new customers receiving a temporary 0%. Unfortunately, my call to Citi did not go nearly as well.
Congrats!
I have about given up with AMEX - they are stingy AF with CLI's and have not dropped my APR once since 2017.
I started out with I think around an 800 limit --- clawed to 6000 --- still at 23.99%!!!
My scores are usually low 800's, high 700's at this point --- (depends on moving some stuff around with my grams balances trying to pay off her nursing home debt)
BOFA has reduced me multiple times from 23% to now 14 and some odd%, started at 1k, now at 25k.
Discover I called today about something totally unrelated - ended up being on the phone a long time and joked "gosh after all this you shoudl reduce my APR" -- she said actually you may be eligible, I can transfer you.
He offered me 0% for 12 months or permanent reduction to 12.4% from 15%. I took that. I think I started that account also around 21%.
Amex keeps trying to get me to PC to the $95 BC --- but same rate -- if i do PC , will that maybe be more likely to come down?
I dunno why they wont' budge at all.
