I recently got an automatic CLI from Chase. I'm looking at my Transunion report and it shows an inquiry from Chase on 7/6/13 which coincides with my CLI. Is this common? Can I ask them not to make any inquiries for CLIs? I may be looking to get a mortgage in the next 8-12 months and I don't want anything unnecessary to lower my score.
It wasnt a SP? Because i know on your report theres asection for SP inqs. Because i know with Chase its a SP if they email you stating would you like your limit increased to X amount if im not mistaken, because you didnt request an increase they offered it.
Unless you requested an increase then it would be a HP from them.

+1
If you didn't request it, I would ask Chase to remove it.

I went to Experian and got my reports from all 3 credit bureaus and Transunion showed this inquiry. Now I just got my Transunion report from myFico and I don't see that inquiry. Now I'm confused.
I noticed this CLI simply from looking at my statement. There was no email and I didn't request it. I'll have to call them and see what that inquiry was for.
Thanks for your reply.

This was on my TU credit report I got from Experian.
4: Credit Inquiries
Here you will find the business names of those who have obtained a copy of your credit report, including lenders, landlords and employers. Remember, inquiries remain on your report for up to 2 years.
This is where that inquiry was.
Now I just got my credit report for TU from myFico and I don't see the inquiry at all?
