Auto CLIs

How to best obtain auto CLIs.

Would keeping a low utl% each month do the trick?

Or would allowing a statement post showing high utl, then PIF each month work best? I feel like this would show the ccc that you need a higher limit.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Auto CLIs

I think it depends on who you are talking about. IMHO the prime company's aren't really giving auto CLI these days, your lucky to get one with a SP. If your talking store cards be either GE or WFNNB the do give autos. I don't think it really matters, you can ask yourself after 4 billing cycles on most and will only be a SP. They do like lower UTIL across cards.

Re: Auto CLIs

I see. I personally have only had credit for 4 years. Towards the beginning of my credit history both my Cap1 and Chase cards received auto CLIs. Since then my FICO score has only improved and I have seen no more auto CLIs. The autos were nice because they didn't require a HP. Oh well.

Thanks

Re: Auto CLIs

Airdefender,

It matters what credit card company's they are through. Some will do a review on your account every 6 months, others never look to increase your limit unless you ask for it.  Having the higher use of the card sometimes shows the creditor that you are struggling (PIFdoes help, but might also mean you were having to wait untill payday).  I would keep UTI under 10%, everyone I see with 761+ maintains around that.  Just check with your creditors on when and how they look at it. GL!
