Auto pay question

I've never done a cc auto pay before. So, if I set auto pay for the minimum payment, but I make payments prior to that date, I will still have the minimum payment deducted on the auto pay date, right?

thanks!

If you make the payment before the auto pay date and still have a balance on the card, the autopay will deducted from your account. However, if you make a payment with no balance left on your card then the autopay will not go into effect - taking money out.

Re: Auto pay question

It depends on the bank.  For instance, with Chase, if you have AutoPay for  minimum payment and you make an additional payment that is equal to or exceeds the minimum payment for that billing cycle, AutoPay WILL NOT process.

With Capital One, if you make an additional payment, AutoPay WILL still process for the minimum payment if there is balance on the account.
