Automatic CLI from AMEX

I have had AMEX blue for three months and saw they gave me a automatic CLI is that normal?

4k to 500. said they adjusted because i obtained or refi'd a mortg in the last 7-10 years and have obtained too much available credit recently. guilty on both accounts. yep buying a home and went from 15k to 70+k of available credit in the last 9 months.

i said i see nothing wrong with owning a home and sorry other issuers have outpaced my relationship w/amex. she said i could wait 6 months and see if they would adjust my cl. i said you can adjust it if you want, but i won't be asking amex for anything.

4k to 500 --that's terrible (it's not reasonable at all, but 2K would've been a little more acceptable)! sorry to hear it happened...

i was annoyed, but hey they are the ones losing out. dw works for delta so i really could give a hoot about skymiles. really only got it for 2 reasons.

1. dw wanted it. apparently it's cool to be able to throw down a delta card when the pizza guy delivers at the office.

2. it's amex
