Stay away from Avant. I have had this card for over a year. I've never had any issues. I am in the process of closing my sub prime cards slowly and this one was on my list to close. Last week I got a call from an unknown number. I googled it and found out that it was the fraud department. I looked at my account and there were 3 charges on the card from random names in Kentucky. I called them and spoke to fraud who said they would look into it. Fast forward to today and now the three items are posted, and the statement cut. I now owe $25 due on 8/1!!! I called them today, sat on hold for over and hour. I spoke with two people and got nowhere! They keep asking me if I was sure I didn't make the charges!! I am so mad I called and closed my account. They said I still needed to pay the balance and if they are fraudulent they will send me a check. I am being scammed out of $270 by this stupid card I never use. I am reporting this to the BBB and Mastercard. Does anyone else have any other suggestions on what to do? I have had this happen before with a few other cards randomly but they always reverse the charges right away. I am being forced to pay this because it will ruin my credit if I don't pay. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!
