Re: Avoiding interest fees...

Well, see the same thing happened w/ my NFCU card. I charged a lot for March, but always would give some form of payment. When the statement cut off for April, it showed it as 0 minimum due for May due date (5/1), even though I was carrying a balance. I figured, April would be different, as there was always some form of balance. I did the same thing, giving payments throughout last month. Lo and behold, statement cuts off and for the 6/1 due date? No minimum payment due, either, even though there's a balance of 452 on the card. Also, at 18% interest, yet, there's no interest charges.

Wow just logged on and saw all the responses, knew that this would be an interesting topic. I honestly haven't been charged interest when making multiple payments a month and still carrying a balance..just saying

You have to be paying in full before grace period or have some sort of promo in effect. Only ways your going to beat interest charges.

One thing I noticed is if I return something I purchased in past month, amex will deduct that amount from my charge card payment required. What if I buy something this month equal to last month's balance then return it. Will the credit count as a payment?
