B of A CL!

Last night I was ticked off at Citi because they denied my app so I figured I'd try B of A Platinum. I have a small bank account with them and the form was pre-filled online except for a couple of lines. I was hoping for 7-10k. I don't know if it's because of my bank account or what, but the message was $21k! Does it help to have a checking with them?

Congrats!!!  Can I ask you a few questions? What are your scores? what income did you put down? and are you a home owner and for how long?

Thanks!

Wow, what a limit!!! I have all my accounts with BofA and I'm sure that it has helped me get some generous CLIs. But geez... 21K!?!? Congrats on your card! Smiley Happy

Re: B of A CL!

Ex only 668 TU 694 EQ 690. Yes, I am a homeowner. I am surprised, however. I have been very diligent about paying off my cc's and only have one old CO and a couple of public records ie tax liens that are almost paid off.

It's amazing what 7 figures will get you!

Re: B of A CL!

$21K with multiple PRs and upper 600s, but with 7 figures.

Just more evidence for what I've said before.  Existing CLs and HHI play a MUCH larger role in determining initial CLs on new accounts than FICO scores do.

Re: B of A CL!

In the interest of disclosure the 7 figures was a joke. Sorry, I thought that was clear. If I were making a mil a year I wouldn't worry about CL's! Our HHI is $150k. We share one account with an $18k limit that my wife brought into the marriage and added me as joint, otherwise our credit is separate. It must have helped though because last Saturday I got the Amex Delta Sky Miles $10k and a Chase $7.5k ($3.5 approved and CLI with a phone call). It was Citi's decline that made me go after B of A so I guess I owe them too.

Re: B of A CL!

That is a dangerous credit line. Can I ask why are you applying for so many credit cards with such high limits?
