@craig10x wrote:Out of curiousity i called them today...according to the rep (unless he is giving me incorrect information) he said he looked it up and Clearpoints is not a Visa Signature Card...This is very confusing...but i do feel a bit shakey about a bank that doesn't seem to be able to give accurate information...the question is: is he right or not? UncleB said his replacement card DOES say it on the card...
I got my card over 6 months ago and it does not say so on the card itself and on their website, nothing is mentioned about it being signature...However, the card with the $99 fee (Select Card) DOES show on the card as a Signature on the website and the benefits ARE mentioned on their website...
BBVA started issuing Signatures just about a year ago but they follow the standard $5K mininum CL guideline.
Mine was originally issued as a Platinum w/$15K SL but like UncleB my card was upgraded to a Signature.
My credit line is $10,000 so that should put me in the ballpark...still...i wonder why it's not mentioned in the card description on the website and the rep i called said it wasn't (probably because he couldn't find anything about it there either... LOL)....However, if the two of you have it and it says Visa Signature on it...it must be...I hope UncleB is able to find the benefits brochure when he gets back home...
Anyone know how to apply for a credit line increase with them? I don't see anything online about it...so i guess one would have to call and put the request in on the phone?
You have to call and it's a HP on either TU or EX.

Would appreciate that...would love to have a copy of the benefits in case i should need to utilize them...So if you do have it, please do post it here..."Quirky" is right...why the heck can't they provide me with a copy of it? The rep said maybe a branch would have it....great! I am in New York and they are in Texas... LOL
You know, even though my card doesn't say...i was really sure it is a Visa Signature and remember having the Signature benefits brochure when i got the card (which i lost)...
BBVA/USA's headquarters is in Birmingham, AL... a little closer than Texas, but not really in a meaningful way for you - you still can't exactly run over to a branch. ![]()
(At the risk of being obnoxious I'll add that BBVA/USA's bank card center is actually in Decatur, AL, which being in north Alabama is slightly closer to you than Birmingham, but I digress...)
I might not be getting back home until Monday but when I do I'll see if I can find any paperwork from when my current card arrived - I tend to be a pack rat when it comes to bank paperwork so I might still have it. I'll also see about posting a quick image of my card (with pertinent info blocked) to show the 'Siggy'... it looks just like the pic on their website other than that addition.
Thank you UncleB...would appreciate anything you can post when you get back on monday...A copy of the benefits brochure would help a lot if you find it...and yes, please do post a photo of the actual card...i'd feel better if i saw that "visa signature" on the card itself.... LOL ![]()
Meanwhile, i put in a request for a replacement card so i can have one like that myself... ![]()
Yes...Birmingham, Alabama is their home base...it's a lot closer...easy walk from here... double LOL ![]()
When I first picked up Clearpoints I called and asked about a Sig upgrade and the CSR had no idea what I was talking about. He kept telling me I needed to call Visa themselves to make this happen.
I just hung up eventually...

I just looked at the ClearPoint and the Select on BBVA's website. The page for the Select talks about Visa Signature benefits. The page for the ClearPoint does not. Here's what it says on the Select page:
Exactly my point! When you call them they say they can't find any information that indicates it is Signature...and on the website, the signature benefits are very clearly outlined for that Select card with the $99 annual fee but when you look at the Clearpoints there is absolutely no mention of those benefits...even their illustration of the card shows no indication of Visa Signature...I am kind of having my doubts about this card having it now... Why wouldn't customer service be aware of it if it did?
I am starting to think i should stick to my PenFed Cash Rewards card as my primary card instead...i know THAT is a Signature Card... ![]()
I think i will have more confidence that it is a signature when UncleB is able to post a picture of the newer card he received that says "Visa Signature" on it and hopefully finds and post the benefits brochure that came with the card... ![]()
Oh ye of little faith.
If I pull up my last statement from a couple of weeks ago on my iPhone it also shows the logo on the upper right hand side of the 1st page, right about the account number.
