Cool...My faith has been restored! (LOL) Thanks so much for posting that... I imagine when i get my ordered replacement card in about a week it should be the same...
Now just have to wait to see if UncleB can find the benefits brochure for me... ![]()
Hmmm..i checked my last BBVA credit card statement and i am not seeing any visa signature above the account number...no mention of it anywhere on the statement at all... When you say they "converted" you was that done automatically or did you have to request it? And did you receive the new card with the Signature information on it automatically or did you have to ask for a new one to be sent?
One thing I like about relying mainly on Amex Platinum and Citi Costco for benefits is that I know what's covered and what isn't.
Just got off the phone with Visa...they were able to look up the BBVA Clearpoints Card in the computer....
The Bad news: She said it is NOT a Visa Signature Card...
The Good News: The card DOES have Extended Warranty (adds 1 year on warranties up to 3 years) Purchase Protection (90 day coverage for Stolen or Damaged items) and Auto Rental Insurance...which are the 3 main features i wanted to confirm on...
Based on this, i still can't figure why it isn't mentioned on their website and why some here have the card and it says Visa Signature on it... ![]()
Would still appreciate it if when UncleB gets back home, if he can possibly locate the benefits brochure for this card and also post his credit card with the "visa signature" on it (covering up the account number of course)...
And when i get my replacement card, it will be interesting to see what it says... ![]()

This is one of those times when it's good to be a pack rat.
I cranked up the flatbed scanner, obscured my personal info (along with some random barcodes that may or may not be PII - better safe than sorry) and here's the result:
(The 'fine print' chopped-off at the bottom was only boilerplate info about alerts, merchant logos, etc... nothing about Signature benefits.)
It looks like the link provided by @K-in-Boston will probably be the best-bet for more info on benefit specifics - BBVA provides the same link, and K's link actually is better since it skips directly to the info you're looking for. I'm fairly certain the 844 toll free number provided on page 2 leads to the same department you've already spoken with.
After I pulled out my card and took the pic I saw that @coldfusion has already provided a card image, but I'm posting mine anyway since I'm proud of my manual cover-up job, LOL.
We usually insist on entire card numbers being obscured for good measure, but I left the first four digits un-blocked so you can see that it's 'old school' embossed, unlike the previous design (the old card was flat). If you already have the new design you already know this, of course.

(Neither here-nor-there, but my new card does, indeed, expire this month despite being only a few months old... they kept the expiration date the same as the previous card number.)
Hopefully some of this will be helpful. ![]()
@coldfusion wrote:Oh ye of little faith.
If I pull up my last statement from a couple of weeks ago on my iPhone it also shows the
logo on the upper right hand side of the 1st page, right about the account number.
This ^^^ is great info; I haven't used the card since it was reissued a few months ago so I have no statements to look at. ![]()
(Yeah, I know... really need to remedy that, lest I tempt fate.)
Thank you so much, UncleB for posting all that...
You know, i am wondering if perhaps i may need to call them and request the upgrade...i did order a replacement card, but that doesn't necessarily mean i will automatically get the upgrade to signature...You and others here actually got that information about the upgrade and a new card sent to you...I've had the card for quite a few months and haven't gotten it...i certainly meet the credit limit requirement of at least $5000 (I have had a $10,000 line all along)...will give them a call on tuesday and hope i get someone that can find out for me...
The woman at visa i spoke to told me my card was not signature and there is no indication on my statement either....
If i can get the upgrade, i can easily get the signature benefits full info at Visa's website...

OP, did you call yet? What did they tell you?
I just got off the phone with them...she checked for me...As to the replacement card i ordered, it is on the way and is the same card i already had (without the signature benefits)...
As far as upgrading it to Visa Signature, apparently the way they have it set up, you cannot manually request it...the system automatically determines who gets it and who does not and if it decides to give you the upgrade, then you get a new card in the mail with the upgrade info as previously posted here...And apparently it has nothing to do with whether you are very active with the card or not...
When someone mentioned this is a "quirky" bank...they sure weren't kidding ![]()
Visa did confirm that i do have the three "key features" of extended warranty/purchase protection/auto rental insurance but they also confirmed my card was NOT a Signature Card...
