It looks like they have updated their site to advise that all BBVA USA cards will be converted to PNC card products. This will change the rewards structure of BBVA cards. They are advising they will send out welcome packets in mid Aug, and will get new account information and materials mailed to everyone from September to early October. In October your BBVA product will convert to a PNC product and more information about these changes should be in the new account materials you get before the account changes. More information can be found on their acquisition update website https://www.pnc.com/en/about-pnc/topics/acquisition-update.html?WT.ac=bbva-home
I hope they at least give us the choice of choosing which of their products to choose from. Personally I do not like any of their cards, the cash rewards is capped at 8K and the points card isn't any better with the low value of the points. I am going to keep the card because i do not want to lose the account history and it wont hurt to keep it in the sock drawer but I am glad I was able to find a new card to replace the rewards structure i'll be losing when the conversion completes. If they let me choose the cash rewards option at least I could use it as a gas rewards card for 4%.
It'll be a shame if I lose 3% utilities but I could use this card.

The Synovus line of cards offers the same rewards categories as the BBVA ClearPoints card. The rewards redemption is handled by TSYS, and the categories code the same way. The only difference is that they are capped at $3K per quarter.
As a holder of both the PNC Cash Rewards and the BBVA Clearpoints card, I really hate to hear this, although I kinda expected it.
The thing I'll miss the most the from our lineup is the targeted offers on our ClearPoints cards. I have the AOD card, so I can live without the 3% category, but I'll miss the 5X, 6X, 7X, and 10X bonuses! 🥲 Being that I already have the PNC CR card, I wonder what they'll do with my account? I would assume they'll make me take the PNC Points card, which would be useless to me. My PNC card has a $15,500 CL and my ClearPoints card is $25K, so I definitely want to keep both open.
Considering I now have Elan's Max Cash for 5% utilities (Which is pretty much all I used BBVA for), having the $8K for gas doubled with 2 different PNC Cash Rewards cards could come in handy... Especially living in $4.50/gallon California.

If given a choice, I would convert my and DW's ClearPoints cards to Cash Rewards cards just to take advantage of the 5 and 10% gas and restaurant offers.

I just realized that I never got targeted for any of these special offers. 😥
This new PNC card is just going to be sock drawered and used for util cushion.
4% gas. OMG, I have enough gas gift cards for at least a yr.
3% dining and restaurants. Too many restaurant gift cards that I'm trying to get rid of.
2% grocery. Have enough 2% cards 😁
At least there's the SP CLI to look forward to.
Does PNC have any special promos and BT offers that we should look forward to?

PNC's gas rewards are actually 4%. They do have some nice 5 and 10% offers at times on gas stations, some restaurants, Walmart delivery and Walmart and other things.
These are my current offers at the moment. I just used a 10% cash back up to $5 for Marathon gas stations and a 10% cash back up to $3 for Zaxby's, so they are off the list now.

I didn't even know we had Marathon here in CA until I saw one in Napa last weekend, but the closest one is ~30 miles away and Chevron (and Shell) is priced about $0.20 - $0.30/gallon more than anyone else. I'd max out that $2.50 in less than a tank here. I think the only other offer I've gotten that we have over here was Rite Aid (I had DW use that one up!)
4% at any station definitely is nice though

Yeah, the offers aren't the best in the world, but being stacked on top of 4% isn't too bad. There's usually not more than 3 or 4 cents different in most stations here. Of course, gas is still in the 2.80's here too.
Marathons are pretty common here, but I do pass 2 Chevrons on the way to work. I've gotten the 10% up to $5 offer for Circle K several times as well, which is probably the most common stations in my area.
