BOA Amex, how long?

I upgraded my BOA platium plus visa to the BOA Amex on wednesday. I thought by now I would see the change in my online banking. When I requested a CLI a few months back, the change online was instant. When I spoke to the CSR he gave me the details of the card, including what my limit and apr would become.  I called today to verify the change and was told "the request has been submitted" and it takes about 2 weeks. This made me wonder if i was waiting for a yes or no, when I thought everything was set and done. Do product changes get declined?

Re: BOA Amex, how long?

Last year, when I changed my BoA Platinum Plus to a World Points Visa card it took a little time.  In fact in my case, if I recall correctly, it took longer than 2 weeks.

Really??? I wonder what takes so much time. Did they tell you yes right away? Or did you have to wait for an answer?

Like in your case, they did tell me "yes" right away--I didn't have to wait for an answer.  I really don't know why it takes so long.  Earlier this year, I was experiencing a problem with the card, and BoA had to change my account number.  Even that took about 3 days.

Re: BOA Amex, how long?

The transition from Platinum Plus Visa to World Points Visa took about a month for me also.  The account change appeared on the website a few days before the new card arrived in the mail.  Did BoA say that you can continue using your present card until the new one arrives?

Re: BOA Amex, how long?

Yes, I was told to continue using the visa and everything would just transfer over. The only thing i was thinking was that I would get a letter in the mail saying it couldn't be done or some crap. Thats just me being negative I guess. If it wasn't approved, i'm sure the CSR or whoever I was transfered to would have said no. And not wasted time telling me a limit and apr.

Re: BOA Amex, how long?

Just be patient.  In general, I've only had positive experiences with BoA.  They've always been very good to me.
