BOA BBR Merrill Account Bonus Question

I have a kind of off-the-wall question.  I just submitted a request to have my BOA 3-2-1 card converted to the BBR card.  I understand that you get a bonus if you have an account with BOA or Merrill Lynch.  I'm not interested in opening checking or savings with BOA, but I do participate in a 401(k) that is serviced by Merrill Lynch and that I access through Merrill Lynch Benefits Online.  It does not show under my Investments tab on my BOA dashboard.  Does anyone know if this account would qualify me for the bonus?

Edit:  The CSR's seem to have no idea.

Re: BOA BBR Merrill Account Bonus Question

I think the account needs to show in your investments tab. Your 401K is an employer sponsored account.

If you rolled some of that to an Merrill IRA; it would definitely count.

I figured that would be the case.  Thanks for the feedback!  Somehow I didn't even see your reply until just now.

Re: BOA BBR Merrill Account Bonus Question

Just open a Cash Manageent account with Merrill. It's free, free checks too! You should then be able to transfer funds from the Cash Management account into other Merrill accounts once things set up and post to the account! Smiley Very Happy

I was actually going to go that route, but according to ML's website the CMA has a $125 AF.

look on Merrill Edge

You would want a self directed account!
