$3k to $7.5k increase is worth a hard pull in my opinion. They've been good about doubling my limits every 6 months or so but always a hard pull TU. I've read some people can get a soft pull increase but no idea what goes into that decision.

Shucks. They counter offered with 7500. Should I be happy? Can I recon that even though it isn't a denial?
Was it a computer counter-offer? Call the backdoor number, they have more discretion in reconning a higher limit. Just let them know that this will be your main card, etc. Good luck!
No, I called the Executive Office and I did it through there. However I am Not sure because when I called they transferred me to card services. So I am unsure whether it went directly to underwriting or not. I think I will call back and get an explanation for why it was such a little counter offer. Will update

So I called back, and they said I only got 7500 because it was a new account. No other risk apparently.
On the plus side, I got it converted to a VISA signature..They said it as going to change my account number...any reason why?
It's a different product.
