I just logged on my BOA Amex card online and they reduced my Cash advance cash available to $2250. I have a $7500 limit with them.
It always used to have both 7500 for cash and credit available. Anybody notice this? I have no reason to get AA. I don't take out cash but still wondering why.
My BoA Visa Signature is no longer open, but as long as I can remember, the cash line on it was always 30% of the total CL. It was $10K with $3K available for cash.
They Just reduced mine too! WTH! It went from 100% of my credit Limit to 30%. I sent them a message wondering why. When they reply ill let you know.
I had spoken to Bank of America about this a few weeks back. What they told me was that the reduction in cash lines is across all products. Customers with excellent credit will receive 50% of their credit limit available for cash, those with good credit will receive 30% of their limit. Customers with fair credit will not receive a cash credit line.
Well I feel a little better. At least I know its not just me.

Mine is exactly like yours, but it was never any higher than that. I don't think I've ever had a card where the cash advance limit was the same as the card limit.

Depends on the issuer and the individual, I guess.
I've got a Chase (which I hate) card where the cash advance limit is the same as the credit line, and it's well into five figures.
No other issuer of cards I have does this, it's usually just a fraction of the credit line.
I've given up trying to figure these guys out...any of them, but especially Chase.
BOA may be limiting its exposure with the cash advance lines, though. They're trimming down a bit (layoffs, etc). First thing to go is the cash advance lines, then credit limits, etc., etc.
It's not personal.

So does that mean those with fair credit will not be able to link to there card for overdraft protection? assuming that was possible before, I know it is with Chase and Chase Freedom
Mine is 3,750.00 on a 12.5 credit line. Been that way since i opened the account. But some of my other cards are only 20% cash limit. Varies by each lender
