OK So I wanted to post my husbands experience in getting a successful CLRe-A from BOA. We read a bit on Flyer Forums about doing this with BOA, however did not find much on Myfico on it.
April 14 2014 my husband went into chat and ReQ a CLRA from BOA.
Chat put in the REQ for the following accounts:
1,2,3 account - 5000
Travel ReWards Visa Siggy -6500
The REQ was to Reallocate 4500 from BOA 1,2,3 to TRW Visa for a total new credit line of 11,000. 500$ had to remain on the 1,2,3 account and it had to remain open. Chat is incomplete, and seemed to have a rep from Southeat Asia on the other end so we dont know the why to that but thats what needed to happen in order to have the REQ put through. Chat stated a HP would apply and asked for permission to submit the REQ as such. The HP went through on TU 4/14/2014. CRedit score included on Income Form Request was 727. There was a 0 Balance on both cards for over 2 months when the Request was put in.
April 24 2014 an Income Information update Form comes in the mail, with a Fax # to fax it too after the form if filled out. The form is faxed out 4/24/2014. A follow up is also sent via Snail mail with a statement of purpose my husband typed up and sent along with it. Explaining the reason for the REQ being family vacation coming up this summer and wanting to put a reasonable amount on the card without going over the 30% and all the details of the numbers were included.
May 2 2014 BOA posts the new credit limits on the account.
1,2,3 =500$
TRW Visa =11,000$
So while this did take quite a bit of footwork, it was a successful move of credit lines. For anyone thinking of moving their lines around with BOA, may this serve as useful information.
That's weird. I did a chat to move $5k off one card to the other and it was done instantly with no HP or anything.
You got lucky. Prior to even requesting the above, every post we had read did state BOA wants a Hard pull for credit line reallocation. We knew going in it would be HP and on what CRA, so we knew what INQ we could afford on TU.
