Question for my brother, he asked me and I have NO idea so here goes...
He has a card from them, he applied for a second card and they "approved" him but all they did was move a massive chunk from his old card to the new one without his permission. He has excellent credit, his limit is 17k and he wanted another 10k + limit from them since he says he likes their style lol.
They basically told him no, the way they do it for a second card is moving the limit around if you want a second card. Is this true or should he call a credit analyst?

If your brother has hit an exposure ceiling with them, then yes they can allocate CLs between cards - carve out from "current" to approve "new" one. If they are not willing to extend any more credit then they're within their rights. He can appeal the decision with a credit analyst but it may end up being another HP...it will be a YEMV sitation for him.
Thank you ! He ended up calling the credit analyst who had no problem approving him right away for 15k. I guess each person has different standards?
