A while back I was approved for my 1st BOA card. I was already at 3 cards in 12 months etc etc and BOA only approved for a smaller limit.
If I do well/responsibly/PIF on-time with this card, will BOA give me a much larger limit when I apply for a 2nd BOA card after 12 months of gardening?
Any experience with this?
In my experience, yes, though I couldn't tell you a real timeframe or any concrete factors.
I opened my first BoA card around 2014 at $5k and it auto increased to $6k. I opened up my PR many years later and it opened at $37.5k. I could not tell you what factors influenced that, because it could be anything, such as income or CLs on other cards I had prior to opening it, but they did give me a higher CL on my second card.
I opened my first BoA card in 1/2022 - with a meager 1,000$ limit - applied for a CLI 12 months later to 5,000$ that was approved - and 12 months later that got auto-CLI'ed to 8,000$.
My second BoA card was opened in 9/2023 - and the CL was 6,800$
I was approved for a BofA CCR Secured in March 2021, two months after my 13 DC for $3000. It graduated in 8 months and is now sitting at a CL of $20,000. Once my inquiries go down a bit, I will be requesting a CLI to 30K.
