BOA possible with a baddie if score is 680+?

Hey,

Have any of you been approved for a basic BOA card with 1 2+ year old baddie? Or is it a rule to always have a clean file? I search all the 'databases' but I wanted to know what you have experienced.

Thanks

You can apply and see what happens. If they dont approve for their regular card they might offer you $99/500 card that can become unsecure in 9 months and start building credit with BOA. With Current economic conditions it is hard to predict any thing.

BofA doesn't necessarily require a completely clean file.  What is the nature of the baddie in question (30 day, 60 day, CA, CO, etc.)?

I was approved with a recent CA (reported open less than 18 months).  The CO on the original debt was more than 4 years old.

Re: BOA possible with a baddie if score is 680+?

Thanks, but I am close to having all things fall off and enough history to not need a secured.I am in a weird position where I might have one ca fall off and get near 700 when utility drops after this month.

I was just hoping to hear from those that have given it a shot. Otherwise, I will wait til they are 700+. I have banked with them for 3+ years at this point and want to get in the door but I don't have the patience for another $500 card as I don't need credit, I just want to build a relationship for business purposes next year.

Re: BOA possible with a baddie if score is 680+?

Well, with Experian, it's one baddie that is in dispute that is < 2 years old. For TU, it's the same disputed ca and 1 that's over 2+ years old. While TU has 2 baddies, it has one account that Experian alread deleted so I anticipate within a few months both reports will, have 1 baddie at the 2 year mark.

They are utility bills, not charge offs btw. When Utilitly updates, the scores will be 680+ for TU and 670+ for EXP

Thanks, guys

I was declined with scores in my sig. They pulled EX which has 2 CA and 1 CO. All of them over 6 years old. I think they also pulled EQ which has 2 CA. They sent me an invite for the fully secured, but I chose not to apply again. I wish I would have though.

Bet you would have gotten an unsecured card on recon.

I wish!  I wanted the card badly. I tried recon 3 times, using backdoor #'s found here. I cited the fact that I have not been late on anything in over 6 years, and I have several accounts in good standing with no lates or any other hiccups. I told them my credit means everything to me and I will never make the same mistakes I did before. In late 09 I am going to pull the trigger with them again.
