BOA what to do with them

I'm doing decently right now TU 714 EQ 698 EX 710 FICO 08.  I have a good mix of credit and good trade lines.

Discover 18.5K

Citi AA 6.6K

Citi DP 4k

Lowes 12k

Cap 1 Venture 15k

Cap 1 QS 5k

Cap 1 Plat 1.5k

Walmart 3k

Overstock 6.6K

Good old BOA Platinum MC. I had a 6k line with them. I've been a customer since 1999. My oldest trade line. 11.99% interest rate.

They balanced chased me back in August after making a 2k payment from 6k to 3.5k, jacked my util to hell, put me over limit and in general dissappointed me.

My util was higher at the time 60% now down to 30% and dropping as I pay off accounts. They had my income level wrong as well.  Spoke with back door analyst and got everything update. No restoration of credit line will be a HP.  New cards HP.  Changing product HP.  Can't combine HP's either. Interest rate reduction HP!

Account is currently PIF. Is it worth even bothering to raise my limit, convert card or add trade lines with them or should I just leave the account alone and move on to other lenders?

Are you sure the interest rate reduction is a HP? They have a rate reduction team that generally drops mine every 6 months with good history, no HP.

99% of CLI is HP with them, but they usually try to accommodate some type of increase with it. To answer your question, I'd still keep the card. Eventually they may increase your limit automatically and they do take into consideration existing relationships for other products.

You have a great mix. I'd probably not bother with BOA. Just SD the card. The only heavy hitter missing in your line up is an Amex. Whether one is necessary, is totally your call.

Re: BOA what to do with them

^ agreed on a good lineup and good limits. to hell with BoA honestly. good old fashioned case of you needing to understand you shouldn't favor your oldest card if it isn't useful. i still have my oldest card (6 years old, had since 18) but i haven't touched it and probably never will. even if they bumped it to $20k i still wouldn't touch it. limits don't determine usage meaning you shouldn't base your usage on a card just because they give you good limits.

Re: BOA what to do with them

I would certainly not waste any HPs on trying to improve the account. Just SD the card or close it (the history will stay with you for 10 years anyway). Your call.

Remember that lenders do not care about us as individuals, and so worrying about remaining loyal is not necessary. If they aren't giving you what you need, move on.

Re: BOA what to do with them

Sock drawer most likely at this point since if PIF. BOA  Back door analyst even said we probably shouldn't have CLD you via balance chase, but we did so!  CSR I spoke with today said HP even for interest rate reduction check.

Any thoughts on an AMEX product before I go back to gardening and working on CLI's?  I'm pre-qual'd for Chase Freedom and Slate as of today.  Amex pre-qual shows nothing but from what I've read that doesn't mean yes or no with them.

I'd like to hit about 100k in avail credit and start that score going above 760. I had a 771 Fico as of April 2014.

amex prequal means nothing if it isn't there but also do you actually need one? or are you going based on the first poster's "recommendation"?

Re: BOA what to do with them

I'd like to distribute my credit across the big banks if possible before gardening and working on the wife's credit.  I can wait on AMEX unless there's a good reasont to add them in.  I've considered other synchrony cards as well, maybe amazon with them.
