There is a BT option on my barclay arrival card online and 0% APR. I have a credit card balance due tomorrow on a different card. How quickly would the BT take effect?
Not fast enough. Figure at least a week, often longer, to get the BT fully completed.
Better make the Barclays CC payment yourself from cash.

Kinda figured it would take more time.

What is the balance on the CC? What is the minimum payment on this card?
A viable option is to make the minimum payment to this card, start the Barclays BT, and it will clear off the card balance soon enough, then you get the 0% APR.

The problem is I did not want to BT the whole balance. I only wanted to BT this month's balance which would have been 1.1k. The entire balance on the card is 2.1k. I'm not even sure if you can do a partial BT. The reason I did not want to BT the whole amount is it would start using up a larger portion of my Barclays CL, which I also use for other expenses. I have money coming in over the next month to pay off the balances, but I guess I will be forced to go into my cash drawer to make the full payment. I hate february for the shorter month when bills come up again much quicker, which combines with the slowdown in business from Nov-Dec and the corresponding payments from that time period coming in (or not coming in two months later).

Yes, you can transfer partial amounts.

Red, are you thinking you have to BT an entire amount? No, no, NO!. You only BT what will fit properly on the destination card, based on your requirements, or even less if you are just playing games with moving funds around, like I sometimes do. You decide the amount to BT, not the balance you are BT from.

Yea, I wasn't sure if this was the case or not since I have never done a BT. The reason your solution would not be ideal in my situation is that I would have to pay interest on the amount that is due tomorrow as well as the amount that would be due next month. So the loss of the grace period would result in a lot of interest I wanted to avoid. If my full balance was 1.1k then I may have gone that route.
