When applying for a balance transfer card do you tell them up front how much you need to transfer, during the application process?
First time doing a balance transfer!
Any opinions on the Citi Diamond preferred card ?
Ir the Wells Fargo Reflect card - 21 months
you can, in an effort to get the transfer done quickly.
Citi took like 10 days to send the payment, with my simplicity card. i had a maxed out card with wells; they [Citi] didnt give me enough of a limit, and I instantly maxed it out, and im only paying minimums. (IMO - Im burning any chance for CLIs based on feedback ive gotten here.) CLIs are a soft pull with Citi and they usually dont give large clis, i think they want to see history, which is annoying and doesnt make sense if your payment history is 100% USBank Platnium is another card to consider.IDK about the wells card.
If i did my most recent BT again, i would have gone to a CU, and stayed away from Citi.
Also, its up to you but im finding previous balance transfer cards to be quite useless after the 0% and you should consider closing when paid off / see how long until you can get the BT with that bank again (Its not a sign up bonus, but they may not allow you to open another for a bit.)
Thank you for the advice and your kindness xperience with citi.
I have $52,000 available credit and my utilization is 13%. I have $6,200 I need to transfer over as my AMEX introductory 0% is running out in November.
Everyone has a reason or a story of why there behind. My bosses house caught on fire and really took a toll on our small business.
I'm still 100 % on time payments, no late payments etc.
i just want to look ahead and don't want to eat most of my payments with interest So a BT card is best right now.
any suggestions on cards would help... tge Wells Fargo reflect gave me a pre approval.. but who knows.

ive been there dude. trust me. dont worry about it, just remember it next time you have a 0% apr on a card. 0% is where the devil lives and all that. someones got that in their signature.
Consider looking at a CC from a local or not local CU, they can not have a BT transfer fee which is usually 3% ($186) for you. even if its a reduced APR. im using my chase card rn for a BT and paying 1.99% apr. 12 bucks a month in interest.
I would recommend selecting a BT card with the lowest BT fee you can find, and/or finding a BT card that you would find useful even after the 0% period. I think there is a recent thread asking about BT cards that are useful after the BT period. It should be on page 1 or 2.
I'd recommend you look elsewhere for a BT card other than Citi, WF, or US Bank. They are all well known to be conservative with SLs (especially if your first card with them), and likely to yield an approval that you might find useless for your needs.
I'd look at Credit Unions for more viable options.

I supposed that'd be me!
If your options are Citi or WF, I think that you'd get a better starting line with WF.
How about Discover or USBank?
All four have been good to us.
Bank of America currently has an 18 month offer as well.
Good luck.
I'm open to any BT card with any Company... 18 months would be sufficient. I'm not looking for any benifits from the card other than getting it paid off.
Any suggestions on CU that give balance transfers?
