Balance Transfer taking long time...

I initiated a BT with PNC and had three different transfers submitted from 3 separate banks/CU's right around New Years

PNC almost immediately posted them to the account.

Two of the BT's were posted within a week or so as the accounts paid off but the third one is now over a month.

I check almost daily and nothing.

When doing the BT PNC stated it could take up to 4-5 weeks and to keep making payments if not seeing movement yet.

So technically I'm still in that time frame but it has never taken this long when I have done these in the past.

Wondering if anyone has experienced the same.

I understand the first call should be to PNC but just looking for some input on how it was resolved if something went wrong.

Thanks.

The way these things are resolved if something goes wrong is for the bank to issue a stop payment.

I have had very slow balance transfers with certain credit unions, and once or twice it took a whole month to go through.  I try not to do balance transfers with those credit unions any more.

Re: Balance Transfer taking long time...

@jaxstraw I had the same thing happen with my new Truist Future card this week. I submitted BT for 4 creditors and 3 were received within a week. The remaining creditor's check was initially sent to an old address within Suntrust system prior to the transition to TRUIST. I stopped that one after a month and had them resend it to the correct address in Dallas, TX where one of the other 3 had been sent. I checked everyday with the creditor and it was never received. I finally had Truist cancel the BT check on Jan. 24th, over 4 weeks later citing it had to be lost somewhere. Well yesterday, I checked my account and the check posted to the creditor on the Feb 6th. After speaking with them, they stated they had the check since Jan 26th and it was just posting to my account on the 6th. I wished they had posted it as a pending payment during that time so I would've know they had it, but oh well... It was reversed of course after I called to tell them it would be. Hoping I don't incur a fee for it being returned even after I made the regular payment of Feb 1st.

I said all that to say this, It could take weeks for some creditors to post it to your account even when they have it "in house".

Possible that an old school paper check may have been sent to the recipient bank(s) in lieu of ACH.

Is the one in question a smaller institution or CU?
