billpay won't send the check for you?

My MIL even sends us a check though her bill pay to pay her part of the car insurance.

I write only one check a month, for my rent, and I really wish I could just get rid of them altogether.

I've never tried using billpay to send a check to a person before. In fact, I'm not even sure how it's done....

Re: Bank of Amer vs. WaMu checking?

I still write checks out every month. I'd say about 10 or so. Doctors bills and other stuff. I really want to transition to paying things on credit cards like chase for cable and light but my limit is way to low to do that right now. 400.00 CL!! My mortgage is auto debt and CC are payed online. I have never used BoA bill pay. Kinda scary i think. I don't want anything not to get there.

Re: Bank of Amer vs. WaMu checking?

I know that others have posted that they don't want their lenders to have their checking account info saved on their sites, so they like bill pay ("pushing" a payment out from their checking account.) But I infinitely prefer paying from the credit card site ("pulling" money out of my checking.) Payments post much faster; almost all my cards credit the payment the same day, if it's made by 5 pm, or 8 pm, or midnight, according to their policies.

I do go back later that night or the next day to verify that it posted, but it always has. I don't have to keep fretting about how long they're going to sit on a bill pay.

And I have done a bill pay to transfer money to one of my daughters. I'm not on her account, but all I had to do was enter her account info (routing number, account number) and off it went. (This was through USAA.)

I use my BofA online billpay to send checks to individuals. All you need is their name, address, and phone. In the Bill Pay Overview tab,  click "show the add a payee module" and you'll see the options "pay a company" and "pay an individual." Click the 2nd one and it walks you through it. Piece of cake!

Re: Bank of Amer vs. WaMu checking?

That's similar to how Chase does it.

If they don't transfer funds electronically to a person or company, they will physically mail a check to the payee. This is normally the case for individuals.
