Just got mine and it is also a Platinum Plus. Anybody know what the actual "Plus" denotes? lol

Got this from MyFico 2008 thread...difference between Platinum and Plus...

That's what I figured. Thanks.

Both of mine are Platinum Plus MC.   I don't really need WMC benefits on the cards, so it's not a big loss.

For those of you who have a BankAmericard Better Balance Rewards credit card, is it a "Platinum Plus" or a "World Mastercard"?

Mine is a Platinum Plus. Interestingly though, my BBR started out as a Visa Signature World Points, then I PCed it to their old Accelerated Cash Rewards Amerian Express then to the BBR MC. Sort of a downgrade but way more rewarding than the other two types it was before!

Platinum Plus was just a marketing thing that MBNA created; similar to Citibank's "Platinum Select." Just a fancier way to say Platinum. BofA purchased MBNA; however, what used to be MBNA essentially still exists today just under the BofA name. Card names, BIN's, statements and addresses for "real" BofA cards all changed to what MBNA had in place before they were purchased by BofA. First USA and Chase same thing...The First USA name even shows up from time to time on inquiries, credit reports etc. Just a little tid bit LOL.

I am surprised BofA doesn't issue these as World MasterCard though, it would get them a higher swipe fee when we use our cards which could offset the reward cost to them.

Excellent! BofA, in my opinion, makes some of the best looking cards. The pictures do not do them justice. The Cash Rewards card is particularly handsome.

They sure do. The Cash Rewards is a beauty! So is the Travel Rewards card!
