Barclay Arrival Vs Barclay Rewards

I just got a mailer for the Barclaycard Rewards World MC. They pull TU, which only has one INQ. I am fairly confident I can get approved..but I like the 2x miles on every purchase for the Arrival.

Im assuming the Arrival is upper tier, and Barclaycard is mid tier.

I hate the annual fee, but I think I'm willing to eat it for 2x on everything. It would be an ideal everyday card for me.

Does anybody know if the underwriting is somewhat similar for both cards? I know there will be a difference, but I guess what I'm asking is, generally speaking, if I can get approved for one, can I get approved for the other?

Would you recommend getting my foot in the door and then upgradin via PC? Is Barclays good for that?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't know the answer to your question, per se, because the only experience that I have with Barclay is my recent app for the arrival world mc (the card hasn't even come yet, that's how fresh the app is). Two things about the arrival: 1. There is no AF. 2. It is not 2x points on everything.

Re: Barclay Arrival Vs Barclay Rewards

There are two versions of the Arrival..

Annual fee and no annual fee versions,

The annual fee version (89$) is 2x miles on all purchases.

So that would make it a 2% everything card then right?

Re: Barclay Arrival Vs Barclay Rewards

2x miles per dollar spent and 10% back on points redeemed for travel. 40k point sign on bonus is nice too. Just received my card today . I can't help with your questions though as this is the only experience I have with Barclays. I think it's a great everyday card and I'll easily cover the annual fee and then some. Of course it's waived for the first year. Good Luck!

Right on. I didn't realize that there were two versions, but I am happy with the offer that I accepted.

Re: Barclay Arrival Vs Barclay Rewards

If I remember correctly from when I checked out the Arrival card, the Rewards is Average credit score and the Arrival is Excellent credit score...
