Barclay Rocks

I have my barclay rewards master card for 5 months, I decided to call and see what offers i had on the card.  First they lowwered my apr by 1.5% then they gave me 0% apr on all new purches now through jan 17th of 2017. then they offered me 3.99% on all balance transfers and no fee to balance transfer. Then they upped my credit limit by $1000.00 with only a soft pull. I know how much alot of people like Capital One, they show me very little love. Everyone who has a Barclay card should call and see whats available on there accounts.

Re: Barclay Rocks

Nice result by just calling in to ask. Good deal.

I would like nothing more than to eventually experience even a slim increase on my current exposure with Barclays Ring (5K) but then that would almost assuredly and likely draw a new Inquiry no matter the bump.

Been stuck with that same limit ever since first approved for the Rewards MC over a year ago which at the time was extremely generous enough given the low limits that they are so famous for on that card in particular.

But there are plenty of cardholders who have better luck on that.

Re: Barclay Rocks

call barclay and ask for an apr reduction, on any card other ring I think that ones apr is set in stone and see where it goes from there

Yeah the Ring APR is fine right where it is for now but later in the summer i intend to try to do the impossible and maybe just maybe draw a SP CLI from them?

Even HP happy lenders bend every now and then.

Re: Barclay Rocks

I wish you luck, Barclay is by far the friendly CC company to deal with that i've ever had.

How do you intend to request the SP CLI? Front line CSRs are totally clueless about them and the only way to get to credit analysts is to inquire about a lower APR. I was hoping to do the same.

Re: Barclay Rocks

i guess you can ask for a apr reduction then they will transfer you to someone who can help you. When i called i just said i want a lowwer apr and they transfered me they didnt even ask me any questions and the nice lady they transfered me to was able to do everything. I did not have to ask for the cli they all ready had the offer for me. I dont think you can request it as a soft pull, i think it's an offer to you or it's not.

Re: Barclay Rocks

Call in and ask for APR reduction and if there is a SP CLI they will be able to tell you. I recently called in to when I apped for a Jetblue card. Didn't ask for anything additional but they did let me open a JetBlue card to go with my Rewards and Apple card.....next day they triped the limit on my Rewards card. So far they have been good to me. I use the limits they give me, don't harass them, PIF most months........seems to be a good agreement.

I was also treated the same but lately not so much.........Been stuck at 4.3K for a yr now.

But overall I've got other cards that I'm happy with it's limit so I'm good.

Re: Barclay Rocks

I used to think Barclay's had the worst customer service, but my recent encounters have been very pleasant.  I still think Discover is #1.  I think Chase is slipping [I always had them at #2] a touch while Barclay's climbs.  Amex has always been great to deal with over the phone too.
