Last Saturday I applied for a Barclay card and got denied. The inquiry hit my trans union credit report last Sunday. I got an alert again this morning saying Barclay did an inquiry on today's date also. Has this ever happened to anyone? I was just getting over the remorse I felt over the initial inquiry and now another without my consent. Im feeling very stressed over this and imagine it will take a lot of effort and time to get it removed. How do I go about getting this second inquiry removed?
Don't worry about second inq so much.FICO sees it as a same Inq.
Just out of curiosity what was your score when you applied? Few weeks ago I was about to apply for Barclays but got an advice on this forum to stay away from it for another year or so.

Did you call in and ask for a recon ? That could trigger them to pull your credit again.

This is only true for auto, mortgage, and student loan inquiries within a certain time window. Credit card inquiries are always scored individually.

+1
Usually if you call to recon they will will than pull an EQ report, but thats odd because you did not call and you got 2 TU hits
I thought it was kinda par for the course. I know when I've applied for different cards in the past a few times some providers pulled 2 different CB reports or sometimes pulled 2 on the same report (i.e. 2 on Eq etc) as long as they have permission to pull your report I don't think there is a way to get them removed..
I was approved last week after submitting phone app and following up with a CA afterwards. They pulled TU and then EX two days later. I'm told that it is normal with them if you have a thin file. Hope this helps.
I'd dispute the inq.
