Just got off the phone with a account specialist he told me that at 6-7 months that a card has no activity they can close the account. If I would've known this I would of never open the card. Urgh!!!!
Im assuming they closed your card then??
Sorry about that, good to know, but mine is the sallie mae, so I use it every month, when I get my BCP, I might try to PC it to something else useful.
Barclay's is one of the worst credit companies, every representative I have talked to is hostile and it's like an interogation when you have to talk to them. " Oh sir I see you carried a $10 balance a year ago, is there any reason for that? "
Just be glad that you don't have their card anymore and aren't giving them anymore money.
Ive had my Arrival card for 8 months and I've had good experience with them so far. I got the card before they extended the 40k miles offer to everyone and they went back and retroactively added the bonus to my account. The two times I've called them since I opened my account have been positive as well. Sorry they closed your card but its a YMMV kind of thing.
I will say that I am very aware of app sprees and other factors now that I have a Barclay backed card. If they end up closing my card, I'll be upset but would just find another vendor.

This is actually in the T&Cs of some of their cards, I think Barclays Rewards says it has to be used at least once every three months.

Sallie Mae (and possibly Arrival) is the only pretty girl in Barclays lineup for the rewards.
Barclays CSRs generally dont provide service as Awesomely mentions. They hate giving out more than 1 card as if the credit analysts are personally paying for the card to be made.
Their cobranded cards have some hits as well.
