Barclays

Was approved for 2 of their cards.

Itunes Rewards - $390 (I asked for 0-1000 during application, don't ask me why).

Priceline Rewards Visa - $4500.

I have not received the CCs but I am planning to ask for a CLI on the Itunes Rewards. Hoping they bump it up to $2,000 minimum.

How are they with CLI within the last 6 months for ppl who have their CC?

Do they do auto CLI or should I call and ask?

I don't think there is anything I can do with a $390 CL, lol....in matter of fact, I don't have anything less than $700 besides my SHELL gas card which is at $750.

What's the best step by step to take in asking for a CLI to where I would have the highest approval rate?

Re: Barclays

I was originally denied for my Barclays card and called the back door number.  The VERY NICE CSR approved me for 500, I asked him if I could have 1000 to use less utl as I was going to spend 500 on an iPad.  He asked me a few questions then said not a problem.  Very happy with the customer service so far, except they want $30 to overnight my card.

Re: Barclays

Should I close my Itunes Rewards CC if Barclays refused to give me a CLI from $390? or should I just stick it in the SD?

I know I would be wasting a hard inquiry but I only have 2 hards on my TU the last 2 yrs including the Barclays.

Re: Barclays

I would keep it open and use it a bit... Make sure you PIF prior to statement date... Have read here that they are good with CLI so toss some business their way and see what happens. My iTunes Visa lives in the SD, but it auto-pays one bill per month. When the payment posts, I PIF the following Sunday via Web Bill Pay. Works very well. If you can run $500 to $1000 per month through the card and stay ahead of payments, eventually they will get the idea and CLI you. That is what I am doing with Doscover right now. I have a $1500 line and I try to run $3k one the card monthly. payinf weekly for the prior weeks budgeted purchases. Ray

Re: Barclays

2 Barclays cards... be very very careful. I strongly suggest not applying any credit for next 6 months.

That's what I was planning to do with the Priceline CC. I was going to use it for everything up to $4000 monthly and PIF. Than hoping in 6 months, I can get a CLI either auto or call in to the credit department. The Itunes CC is kinda scary with a CL of only $390, I guess I can pay my Uverse bill and have it auto deduct from my bank account and not have to worry about it.

Maybe you can answer this question for me....the reason I signed up for the priceline was #1, rewards, #2 ZERO balance transfer for 9 months. I already had $1000 transfer over during the app process. If I paid off that $1000 once I get the card to bring the balance down to ZERO or before the 1st statement cut, could I do another balance transfer to the Priceline card? There is no rule or policy that said you can't do more than one balance transfer right within a single month right?

Many, MANY people have shared experiences with Barclay's, specifically for the Apple card, getting low initial approvals and recon'ing for higher starting CL and have double and tripled their lines by saying they were going to buy something from Apple.  Search on the forums and you will see $500 CL's going to $1500+ with just a phone call and a nice request.

YMMV, but good luck!

Re: Barclays

I hit the "luv button" on my Juniper/Barclay Visa this morning, it asked me how much I wanted.  I put $1k.  Instantly approved.  From $2500 to $3500.  Should've asked for more.  lol.  The card had a zero balance and they hard inquiried TU.

Re: Barclays

When my Barclay's Juniper card was young, I called in for CLI's.  I got the first, was denied for the second.

But I've learned to sit back and relax - they do nice auto CLI's.

I had my first auto CLI for $1,000 just before the card's first anniversary (and that was right after having opened another card - so they were okay with that); and another auto CLI six months later (that was this month). ETA - also for $1,000

Plus - no hard pull on an auto CLI.  Smiley Tongue

(I did get a hard pull and no CLI three months before that very first auto CLI - I could have just waited if I had been more familiar with how they run.)  Smiley Indifferent
