I've seen a smal rise in score in the last month or so. According to Scorewatch my TU score is 691. I've been getting some attractive pre-approval mailers from Citi and Discover, to do balance transfers with a 0% APR for 12-18. I'm debating taking the bait. I have a balance on my Cap1, the APR is 14% I believe.
So here's my dilemma, I'd really like to hit 700 with both scores. Would the dent I take from an app make it not worthwhile to apply? Should I wait until I hit 700 and see what offers I get at that point and go on a mini-app spree?

My TU was 680, I apped for a Rewards CC was declined. My Util was 35%.
The following month, I paid down my Util to 15%.
My TU score jump to 706. I apped for a different Rewards card from the same CC company.
I was approved for $4500.
The point is...hold out til you can get your score to 700 or above if you plan on doing an app spree.
Just make sure your Util is low for better approval
Patience is the virtue when apping for a new CC.
Thanks. I'd definitely like to wait until I'm in the 700s to app, as I'm so close the goal at this point that it seems somewhat silly to take a ding at this point.
What card did you apply for?
I'm torn between Discover (for cash rewards), AMEX, and a few others.
