Best Buy MC Verification

So I applied today for a Target and Best Buy Card.

I was approved instantly for Target 200.00 CL :-(

Best buy I recieved a "Please call us to verify"

The woman on the phone indicated that I did not qualify for the Best Buy Store card.  Would I like to be considered for the MC.  I said yes.

She went through a series of questions and said that I had passed verification.  Then she said my application needs to be sent to another department for final review since "I applied online"?  Does this make sense?

Was I approved or not?  Has anyone gone through this?

It sounds like you were approved for the MC. This story is more proof that obtaining the BB store card is more difficult.

Same thing happened to me yesterday.  The rep went through questions and said it had to go through another department for verification and it could take up to 14 business days.  I thought this was ridiculous.  I got on here and called the back door number for best buy.  The CSR asked me a few questions and said I was approved for the Gold MC with a credit line of 300.00$ BOOOOOOOO

So, my question is has anyone been lucky to get thier Gold MC up to a reasonable amount since Cap 1 took over?

That's the one with the AF. Ouch...

Congrats on some sort of approval though. If you apply again in a year or so, you will likely get the no AF store card.
