Im looking for the best card to apply for so I can transfer 2 balances I have. $1.4k on a Wells Fargo CashBack Student Card and 2k from a Discover IT. Both with outrageous interest rates (both above 20%). I have a Chase Freedom that got PC'd from a Slate but with only a $300 limit so thats useless for a BT. My overall utilization is about 37%. AAOA is right under 2yrs. Oldest open account is right under 3 years. 7 open credit cards. Only 3 being used. Credit score i believe is about 705. No negatives. Always on time. Low inquiries. Any cards recommended. Im hoping to get approved for enough to transfer both balances to. I have 2 cards with limits of 3k and ive managed them well. Hopefully the banks see that i can handle my limits. None of my cards are maxed. Just looking to save some coin on the interest. Thanks in advance.
The slate is supposed to be good but since you pced out of it and you already have the discover it, try the citi diamond preferred? It's the only other good one I can think of besides the discover it and slate

Is applying for a new Slate an option?
If not, I'd suggest the BofA Better Balance Rewards card.
Id check pre-qual for Chase Slate and for Citi.
You might consider simply applying for a card that has benefits that interest you for the future. For example: I was looking at all these balance transfer gems (CDP, Slate...etc), and then I got a preapproved letter for the Citi TY Preferred card. I liked the fact that it came with 15 or 20k TY points with a low spend in three months and I could redeem said points at checkout at Amazon. Also, it came with 15 months of 0% APR on balance transfers and new purchases. So since I knew that the balance would be paid in full well before 15 months, I thought that the balance transfer cards seemed kind of obsolete...
any credit unions near you?
It seems as though a Slate or CDP with a decent credit line($10k+) are difficult to get.
I applied for the Citi DP and got approved for 2k. So looks like once the card comes in ill requesting a CLI. Anybody know the odds of getting another increase? And any opinions on the Amex BlueCash everday for BTs?
I was able to get Slate and Freedom same day as my 2nd and 3 card during app spree. Got slate just for the BT. was initially approved at $3k slate and $7k freedom, Reconed on Slate and they got me up to $8k, not bad considering I had no previous relationship with them. One member just got $15k with them out of hte gate the other day but I think he already has a CSP wiht similiar limit.
Congratulations to you Gmac, CITI did not like me on my last app spree so I am not sure how willing they will be to increase you. Others will chime in I am sure. I would try for a new Slate card again, its def the best balance transfer offer out there and it sounds like you have a good relationship with Chase to already.
