What you're describing here sounds like Amex. I was an AU on my father's Amex when I was young and Amex said he defaulted and they tried to sue him but lost. Strangely, Amex did a poor job of record keeping and that is why they lost in court. Last year I applied with Amex and they approved me. I still think the OP has no reason not to try. This will let us know how long Amex keeps their records.

I had been on my fathers amex optima plat for 7 years and when I filed BK they cancelled my card. Even though I have no financial responsibility they didn't want me having charging privileges with them.

Thats sucks...like they thought you had a big red A on your forehead and someone would associate that with the....(shakes head) even though you weren't responible for the billOn another note, the fine print does state that Amex can go after AUs for their charges. Any charges during the BK period would be hard to collect.
