No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
My story for context: Got out of financial hell a couple of years ago due to lawsuit drama with a family member. Gonna spare the deets. FICO credit ratings are improving slowly and steadily, hopefully on the path to a 700 by the end of the year.
Originally had a Capital One Platinum and a Quicksilver One card. A year or so ago the Platinum card got bumped to a Quicksilver card. Getting gradual CLIs (some automatic, some I had to request manually). I'm expected to get my next CLI on both cards some time around July.
Since the upgrade, I've been trying to get my Quicksilver One card upgraded because having that and a Quicksilver card is simply redundant, but each time I get the dreaded "we have no upgrade options for you". Along the way, I also have added the Savor One (which is one of my favorite cards) and the Walmart Rewards (mainly to drive down my utilization percentage) cards from Capital One, alongside getting the Amex Gold and Delta Rewards Gold cards (the former becoming a daily driver). I have been denied for Venture cards likely due to having too many Capital One cards so a new card is highly unlikely anytime soon. Plus I'm trying to get out of 5/24 hell so a new card outright isn't what I want right now until next year at the earliest.
So my options are, as far as I am aware:
Any thoughts from the hive mind as to what path I should take? Anyone have any experience in similar situations as me?
at the end of your link for the QS1 account on desktop add
/productupgrade
to the end of the link this prompts the system to check and there may be offers not shown in the 'view offers and upgrade' section
you'll either get an upgrade offer or you'll see this if you did it right
QS1 is notoriously more diffiuclt to PC, there's no shame in closing it and applying for a card you want
FYI, use the pre-approval tool specifically for one of the good cards, not the general link, people have gotten better pre-approval results when doing so

Thanks!
- I've already went through adding /productupgrade and got the screenshot you posted
- I did go through the pre-approval link you sent, and low and behold, got pre-approved for the Venture One, but the option without the sign-up bonus.

Venture One is a $500 SL minimum card, Venture is 5k minimum card, two vastly different cards make sure which card you want is the one you want
personally, I would close and go after other issuers at this point, imo
Funny - I did the /productupgrade on my Savor One card online.....and it wants me to upgrade to the Quicksilver card, which makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.

Consider yourself lucky. I have 3 cards and get:
Have you tried calling customer service? I always call to check for upgrades. I had a Platinum and QS1. I called in April and upgraded them both although the site said I had no offers. I upgraded the Platinum to a no fee QS. I upgraded my QS1 to a no fee Venture One.

So my options are, as far as I am aware:
- Cancel the card altogether and re-apply for a Venture card. It's not my oldest card so the hit I'd face is probably minimal but again, I'm trying to limit my 5/24 hit because I wanna get into the Chase ecosystem sooner rather than later. Currently it's in my sockdrawer collecting dust and hasn't been swiped in months due to its lack of usefulness.
- Push the situation in July when I am eligible for CLIs for all of my Capital One cards, but, again, I fear I'll just get the same answers, plus my CLI may be minimal, if not, get nothing at all.

How much usage are you putting on the QS1? I had a QS1 as my 2nd CC and first unsecured CC when I started a rebuild 4 yrs after filing for a BK7. I started with a $2k limit and 8 months of pretty heavy spend later made a CLI request I was approved for a new CL of $3.5k and a few days later was able to use the upgrade link to change to a VentureOne (it remained a platinum level like the QS1 was) and got rid of the annual fee. 6 months later I was able to PC to regular Quicksilver and got the bump to world elite (not that capital one has a lot of WEMC benefits but was still nice to see). FWIW I have 2 Capital One cards, the other being a Savor One that was opened a few weeks before I requested the CLI on what was then a QS1. When I made the PC from VentureOne to regular QS I already had a 4th CC.
(How do I quote a response in a thread?)
I'm hardly, if ever, using the Quicksilver One anymore, it's basically sitting in my drawer collecting dust for about a month or so, which is why I wanted to get some use out of it. I think I have maybe $150 on it with a CL of $1600 just to keep some sort of CU on it. My current daily drivers are my Amex Gold Card and my Savor One for restaurants, bars specific merchants (especially the Amex for that sweet sweet SUB), and my Quicksilver for all other POS purchases.
