I have to aggree with @Remedios I'm a bit surprised with that many disputes even Amex hasn't cancled your card(s).  I know BOfA will not tolerate hard to deal with customers for long.

I've had 2 disputes (one each with a different lender) in the last 10 years.

I think you did not read my posting well enough. This was my FIRST dispute ever with DD and Bank of America. I have NEVER filed ANY dispute with Bank of America even though I have BOA card for 3 and half year and I have been ordering food from DD for the last 2 years on weekly basis. No issue ever until this one. As for Amex then Amex is opened last 25 years and all the claims with Amex were in 25 yrs.

Amount of disputes is mind boggling.  Not meaning to pick on anyone, but with that amount of disputes despite how much one charges one has to question certain things.  I have had like 4 disputes over 20+ years over three different lenders I think.

Also to note doordash has always refunded me with no problems if food was cold(took longer than normal for delivery), extremely late, etc.  always handled it well

So, you DID call DD and reported issues wherein you got refund, but I NEVER reported ANY issue to DD in last 2 yrs until this one only...As for my other disputes with all other lenders then those disputes were not only for foods, rather all kinds of issues and those were in a period of many many years...going back to 25 yrs...

Filling a charge dispute with a lender because you didn't like what you received almost feels like fraud to me ?

I will say, the couple of times I've had to file a dispute with door dash, the resolution has been immediate and in my favor. I'm not sure why you've had such experience with door dash.

For sure though, I don't think you should aim your frustrations at BofA. You ordered a service and received it - door dash needs to be paid. The only people who can (and should) refund your money, in my opinion, are door dash.

Luckily, I've only had to file 1 dispute for a fraudulent charge on any of my BofA CC's and they were punctual and polite.

200 disputes with AmEx?!? I'd be walking on eggshells with them 😬

Cheers!

You and others who reported issues to DD a few times, and issues were resolved by DD in you guys favor, but this wasn't the case with me. I reported only time and they didnt resolve the issue in my favor by quoting their rules...I got it that its ok for merchant to get paid even if I get rotten food...I hope, you to never experienced this issue in the future...not only for food, but any other purchase then you would know what I am talking about...

Yo... 🤯

I had to reach out to Doordash twice in the past 3 years, always resolved without any issues.

Now, if you've been reporting a lot of "rotten" food, this is predictable outcome.

This is not standard response for them

No...Not 240, rather almost 200....and not with two lenders, rather many lenders in my lifetime and main ones were- Amex, Chase, US bank, Discover, NFCU, Alliant and many more....Going back 25 yrs...

I understand your frustration. I guess the point I'm trying to make is you shouldn't be mad at BofA. Be mad at Door dash.

Because I live an analogy filled life... That's like financing a car, only to get it home and find it doesn't get as good of gas mileage as advertised.
Would you call your loan servicer demanding your money back or would you take it up with the dealership? (Not like you'd get your money back from the dealership in this scenario anyway)

Good for you if your issues were resolved when you reached out twice to DD in the past. My mom once ordered for $40 food and she asked for brown rice with her food because of her being diabetic, but resturant mistakenly delivered her white rice...So she reached out to DD for this...DD gave her full refund (not only for the rice but for the whole order) plus $120 compensation on her account...So its good that DD and other outlets resolved for you guys, but not for me...I was DD customer for the last 2 yrs and have been ordering on weekly basis...and this is the first time I have reported the issue and it wasn't resolved in my favor. Was it my fault in all this?

No, that's waaaay too strong!    Credit cards offer a dispute resolution service as part of their value prop (of course, if you have a problem with THEM, it's mandatory arbitration, but that's a different story!)   The usual requirement is that you have tried to resolve the dispute with the merchant first, and clearly the OP did this.

The claim here is not that OP "didn't like" what was received (e.g. it was too spicy) but that it was rotten and unfit for anyone.   This is the equivalent to buying some electronic appliance online, and it arrives broken.  If the packaging is fine (so shipment service denies responsibility) and the seller says "It was fine when I sent it", trying to get the credit card company involved is the correct step.

So, that said, if all the facts are as stated, and BoA didn't take their responsibility seriously, you can see OPs annoyance.   We know that issuers do differ in this, with historically Amex siding with customers more (to the extent that some merchants cite that as a reason for not accepting Amex).

I agree with you here. I read it as a "charge dispute" which I thought was 'I didn't authorize this purchase'
