Bill me later denial

I got denied for a bill me later account today and the only reason for denial was too many inquiries. This makes my 4th app for it this year and I know that's way too many but I didn't find out that fact until I came to this forum. My score has improved quite a bit since the last app and I thought I would give it a try. My total inquiries is 5 with equifax and 3 are from bml. I called their regular cs number and the csr said there were no recons and that he couldn't even pull up any info on where I had applied. Does anyone know of a backdoor number or a way to speak with someone that actually has the ability to do something? I wish they pulled TU because my score is over 50 points better with fewer inquiriesSmiley Sad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just love the idea of a hidden TL that doesn't affect utilization. Thankyou!

After 4 attempts its time to look at the denial and see why that won't approve and work on those points

I understand you want the card bad but at some point you just have to move on and stop wasting HP's until your in a better shape for the approval.

What was the reasons for the other denials?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

It's just me but I would stop applying and start a GW campaign because other lenders might feel the same way in the future and not approve

Re: Bill me later denial

I have not seen it discussed that often but depending on how many accounts you have dilution is one way if GW's don't work.  I have taken this approach as I have 5 or 6 new accounts now with 2-3 months of full pay.  This is one reason why it is important to save those HP's.  As I have read lates are a ratio to total account months reporting.  If you cant change the numerator...change the denominator. Smiley Happy  I would enjoy hearing what others with more experience comment on the topic.

Current Score: EX 712 4/28/15, TU 713 4/14/14 lender pull, EQ 723 9/16/15, 740 EQ bankcard 8 6/1/15 lender pull
Last app 03/12/17

Re: Bill me later denial

I recently applied for a bill me later account got denied and don't understand why?! I don't have bad credit I've taken loans out paid on time and paid them off early. I mean I'm only 22 so I don't have a mortgage or make 100k a year but if I did I wouldn't be trying to get a bill me later account. I live on my own and pay my bills and I got denied and a person that I work with lives in the in-laws basement and works part-time got approved about the same day they denied me!! Idk it seems like an awesome program that's why I wanted in but guess not Smiley Sad

You will need to review the reasons for the declined application as it can be any number of factors on why they reached such decision.  The may list the main reason at the top section of the letter when you receive it; however, also review the reason(s) below the score that they will provide (including the CRA that was used) and this should give you a general idea.

+1

Unfortunately, BIll Me Later does not have a backdoor number nor do they entertain any declined app reconsiderations, sorry.

Re: Bill me later denial

4 Inq's is not to many!

i think I had over 15.

i also have less than 1 year old 120+ day lates.

the automated computer formula on credit report they use sure can be weird sometimes but surely after 4 denials in a year try something else!
