I think I know the answer to this question. What happens to the rewards if you don't have the membership. Bj's member desk tells me that I will still earn the cash back but not at bj's and I can request a cheque for what rewards that I get. It does not seem right and wanted to know if anyone has any information on this.
"If you cancel your BJ’s Membership, you will forfeit all accrued Earnings and Awards and will no longer accrue Earnings or future Awards. Non-member pricing will apply to all of your BJ’s purchases."
Sounds like the member desk had the right idea but did not quite stick the landing. If you have an active account, you can request a check for any current $10 vouchers in your account by calling 800-BJS-CLUB. But once the membership lapses, they're gone.

We had the rewards paid out in a cheque and we are waiting for us to get it. So it's basically and non rewards card. Does anyone know about it being trasfered to Capital One?
Yes, looking through the agreement for the card it does appear to be a non-rewards card when there is no active membership. One thing they never made clear when applying for for the card was that if you have the higher tier rewards membership that gives 2% back in rewards, you no longer earn that unless you use the BJ's card. Since the 5% rewards doesn't apply to certain items, such as alcohol and tobacco purchases, I'll use a different card sometimes and don't get the 2% on the rest of the items in my cart.
As for CapOne, there is a thread in Credit in the News, but all we really know at this point is that CapOne is getting the accounts from Comenity and that BJs has filed suit here in Massachusetts against ADS (Comenity) for dragging their feet in handing over the accounts.
