My fiances Mom has the Bank of America Travel Rewards card.
Her son keeps stealing the card to pay for his Xbox marketplace purchases, we have tried ordering a new card but he has still managed to get his hands on that one.
While there may be a different type of issue here that needs to be addressed, is there any way to block certain types of payments on a credit card?
Such as, Microsoft transactions?
Trying my best to help her with her finances but her 25 year old 'stay at home son' seems to be the only one right now...
I don't think you can block a specific type of transaction. Have her call BoA to make sure. Good luck!
Yes, it is entirely possible, they have the ability to block business by SIC code classifications. Will BofA do it? I doubt it.

Or you could call microsoft and have them block the credit card. It works on apple...(after telling them my neice was buying stuff accidentally/unknowingly.)
Bet he won't be staying at home if she kills the internet connection. Then there's no need for the CC # for XBOX Live either. There's always the option of a Police Report.

+1
I once had a procurement card (in addition to my Amex Corporate card) and the purpose of the procurement card was for supplies... the MCCs for anything travel-related were blocked at the issuer level at the request of my company. That helped to prevent anybody from accidentially using the wrong card for the wrong purpose... at least when it came to putting a plane ticket on the pro card, anyway.
The problem here isn't one that can be solved by a credit card company, or even an internet forum... there's a much deeper issue that must be dealt with by the stay-at-home son's mother. How she chooses to deal with it is of course up for discussion, but I'm not sure this is the most appropriate sub-forum if we want to go down that path... the smorgasboard would be fine for that, though.
Edit: can't spell
