BoA 3x CLI question?

I don't see very many posts about BoA which leads me to think they are more strict or not really desired and this seems to be true with my girlfriends account.  She was been with BoA for 15 years checking and savings and bankamericard cash rewards for past 6 years and they have not treated her well.  About 2 years ago she had an 8k CL and a balance of 3500 and called in one day for something not related to asking for an increase and they actully did a soft pull and cut her CL in half, making her util go way up.

Anyway her credit has always been 750 and up and now is in 810 area, no collections, charge offs, etc.  Her main issue is that out of maybe 5 cards they don't even total up to 10k in credit BoA being the highest at 3700.  So her online has the link for credit increase so I told her go for 10k and she got the 7-10 days message which seems like a denial which would be insane she makes about 100k and her util is under 15%.  Its been two days now don't know if she should call in but I really don't understand why this would be so hard with her history and current position.

Re: BoA 3x CLI question?

I believe that two years ago Bank of America was struggling and cutting everyone's limits to lower their exposure, so your girlfriend wasn't being singled out. If you search, you will see a lot of people went through the same thing around that time. I have had great success with them and had a 3.75x increase, so you can definitely do it. They had no problem being the highest limit for me and I've only been with them and FIA for about 18 months. She should ring in to be able to speak with someone about the increase. Usually they will make the decision on their own, but it never hurts to talk to them.
