BoA CLI Request or Wait for Automatic?

I have a BoA card with $2500 CL. It's been more than six months since I got the card (about to get my 8th statement). I was wondering if i should hit the luv button (or call in) or wait for them to give me an auto CLI.

If I do hit the luv button, should I request a certain CLI or leave it bank. Is there a "magic number" or percentage for CLI requests with BoA?

Try it, it's just a soft pull with b of a.  Ask them to double your trade line.  Seems to work for a lot of peeps.

Re: BoA CLI Request or Wait for Automatic?

convential wisdom is that fill out the form, but leave the rqstd cli part blank. if you qual it's usually a 20% cli. it will be a soft pull, and others have indicated if they need to pull they will call first. some say this tactic is good every 3 months, but things are changing so it may not be the case or could change at any point.

if the cli rqst is declined call the recon number, again no pull. good luck!

Re: BoA CLI Request or Wait for Automatic?

Hmm... so should I ask for $5000CL in my case or just leave the amount blank? 20% seems kind of low in my case. Going from $2500 to $3000 really doesn't do much.

you can try for more and they may give that or the 20%, if you get a decline the analyst can give any amount that is justified.

Re: BoA CLI Request or Wait for Automatic?

I left it blank and went from 2k to 5k at the 1 month mark.  It has been three months and I can't go any higher.  (However, after the last request a BofA CSR commented that I have enough credit with them -- I'm an AU on a 25k card.)

Re: BoA CLI Request or Wait for Automatic?

Uh oh, I got all amped up from reading this post so I tried the BofA LUV and got the 5 - 7 day notice thing. CRAP!!!!!!!!! Smiley Sad

I started off with $3600, then LUV'd it to $4000 3 months ago and then right now I tried to get it to $4800 (20% increase). When I got the $4000 limit it was instant. Oh well.
